Logitech G9 mouse has two interchangeable grips. The precision grip gives a small and dry grip, and wide load grip gives larger and smoother grip. The user can choose between these two grips according to what best fits the user.

The Logitech G9 mouse can store five different player profiles, and besides the mouse setting, it stores the settings of the keyboard, LED, and dpi in the built-in memory chip. One of the buttons on the bottom of the mouse let the user switch between these different player profiles.

The user can change the colors of the mouse LEDs through the menu.

The Logitech G9 mouse differs in appearance from the other G-series mice. Logitech G9 is boxlike in appearance while their predecessors in G-series are egg-like in shape

The MicroGear Scroll Wheel can be turned on and off using one of the two buttons at the bottom of the mouse to select between two smooth scroll options. Turning it on switches to click-to-click scrolling that is ideal for line-to-line scrolling. Turning it off switches the mouse to hyper-fast scrolling mode that allows faster scrolling through multi-page documents.
